Appeal For Help
Kocić family decided to this step, because they have no other possibility. We live by social help and we have no possibility to earn money for normal living. If somebody sees our situation will certainly notice the severe game of nature with us.
Zoran Kocić, the head of this family, suffers a cerebral stroke, when he is 42 years old. From then he hardly walks and he has problems with high blood pressure. He is constantly on medical treatment but his condition will not get much better till the end of his life. He is retired but his pension is not enough even for his own needs of medical supplies. With the money he receives Zoran is enable to get even the balneotherapy, which is of a vital necessity for him. His wife, Borinka Kocic, was once a strong healthy woman, ho used to look with a smile in the future. Then their two boys were born, both of them with the terrible and still untreatable disease- neuromuscular dystrophy. Under the pressure of the circumstances and the personal grief the mother’s smile disappeared from her face. Her hope that her children and grandchildren will take care of her when she gets old was forever lost. All that lead to her mental disorder. Since 1986 Borinka is under a permanent treatment for her mental disease. She can`t realize any income. The older son Boyan (1971) was born as a healthy child. His diagnosis – SMA3 started to reveal on the second age of his life. Slowly but surely. The first symptom was his difficulty to walk. When the boy is four years old the doctors diagnose a disease – Spinal Muscular Atrophy-type3.At that time Borinka and Zoran realized that their firstborn son will spend the rest of his life in a wheel-chair. Boyan managed somehow to graduate from the high-school but with superhuman efforts. By the way, in our country then and now nobody wants to give opportunity to disabled people to prove themselves, to slow that they also can be of some benefit. That`s why Boyan should stay binded to his family and wheelchair. The other son Ivan Kocic (1974) showed the same symptoms as his brother at the age of three. The same diagnose - SMA3.The sun for Borinka and Zoran stopped shining. The sorrow and the pain defeated them.
Today Kocic family live together at the same place. They all are at a small (two-roomed) apartment on the ninth floor. They try to help each other without disturbing one another with their needs. During the winter is really hard and they barely wait for the summer to go out of the building for a while. Borinka along with Zoran try to help the children in their everyday needs. Although they also have the necessity of help by third person with the strength they have left try to satisfy the needs of their children.
With a view to that we live on the limit of the existential we ask all people with good will to make our life a little bit easier with material and financial donation and support.
